VoIP or "Voice Over Internet Protocol" is an emerging technology that
allows phone calls and voice services to be transmitted over the Internet
rather than over the POTS network (plain old telephone service). Many
web conferencing packages make use of VoIP for voice communications.
Other web meeting packages rely on conventional telephone service.
