There are many good web conferencing software applications available
today. When deciding which one is best for you, here a few questions
to consider:
- What will the package be used for? (e.g. education, marketing, small
meetings, large conferences,collaborative design sessions)
- How many online participants will participate concurrently?
- How computer literate and Internet savvy are the participants?
- Have all participants be trained in the use of the technology?
- Do all participants have a high-speed Internet connection?
- Is real-time video required or is voice conferencing adequate?
- Is there a need to "chat" online during the meeting/conference?
- Is there a need to share applications? (drafting packages,
spreadsheets)
- How will formal presentations be delivered? (e.g. Powerpoint)
- Is there a need to conduct real-time surveys? (e.g. education
session)
