There are many good web conferencing software applications available today.  When deciding which one is best for you, here a few questions to consider:

  1. What will the package be used for? (e.g. education, marketing, small meetings, large conferences, collaborative design sessions)
  2. How many online participants will participate concurrently?
  3. How computer literate and Internet savvy are the participants?
  4. Have all participants be trained in the use of the technology?
  5. Do all participants have a high-speed Internet connection?
  6. Is real-time video required or is voice conferencing adequate?
  7. Is there a need to "chat" online during the meeting/conference?
  8. Is there a need to share applications? (drafting packages, spreadsheets)
  9. How will formal presentations be delivered? (e.g. Powerpoint)
  10. Is there a need to conduct real-time surveys? (e.g. education session)
